Nathan Osborne Celebrates 20 Years at Faith Baptist Church
WINTER HAVEN, Fla.—Faith Baptist Church honored Nathan O. Osborne III for 20 years of service as its pastor. In 1995 Faith Baptist Church had been without a pastor for nearly two years when Osborne, having accepted the church’s call, arrived with his wife, Jill, and their four children.
Faith’s assistant to the pastor and music director, Stephen Simpson, spent his teen and college years under Osborne’s ministry and then joined the staff. SEBRING, Fla.—Maranatha Baptist Church honored Gerald Webber upon his retirement as pastor. A record crowd gathered for a reception on the evening of March 29 to wish him and his wife, Kathy, well and thank them for their ministry.

Teens Serve at Local Homeless Shelter
LAKELAND, Fla.—What was intended to be a one-day event turned into a monthly service opportunity for teens at Fellowship Baptist Church. On March 1, the teens and some of their parents volunteered their time and service to Lighthouse Ministries, a local homeless center that not only provides for those in need but also shares with them the love of Christ.

Tri County Baptist Passes Baton of Leadership
THE VILLAGES, Fla.—J. O. Purcell retired from Tri County Baptist Church Dec. 31. This new phase of life marks a second retirement for him and follows five decades in ministry. Pastor George Prinzing was installed as the pastor of TCBC, he and his wife Michelle came from Princeton, IN.

Free Dinner Shows Church's Care for Widows
LAKE WORTH, Fla.—West Pines Baptist Church showed its appreciation and love for the widows in its church by treating them to dinner at Olive Garden. The idea came about when then the pastoral staff asked, “What does Jesus care deeply about?” Pastor Paul Sorber says, “From Scripture we know that widows and orphans need to be cared for in an intentional way, so we pastors came up with a few ways to intentionally care for our widows.” The dinner “was a great success,” he says.

Church Shows Love Through Free Child Care
MULBERRY, Fla.--Shepherd Road Baptist Church showed love to its community this Christmas by providing free child care. On Monday, Dec. 22, parents dropped off their children at the church, where the kids enjoyed games, crafts, music, and snacks from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Twelve children from the church and 20 children from outside the church attended. The event was “our way of saying to the community we love you,” the church says.

Bryan Goebert Ordained
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.—Sun Coast Baptist Church ordained Bryan Goebert, pastor of the church since 2005. An ordination council met on Nov. 29, with Mark Smith, director of Bible Tracts, Inc., serving as chair. Smith was pastor of Sun Coast Baptist from 2000 to 2003. The congregation had the privilege of hearing him speak at the ordination service on Nov. 30.
