Sunshine Baptist Fellowship Fall Meeting
2011 Fall Conference Recap
SEBRING, Florida -- The Fall Conference of the
Sunshine Baptist Fellowship was held October 24-25, 2011. The keynote
speaker was Dr. John Greening, national representative of the General
Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Greening centered on the theme
of "Godliness" with sermons about developing personal Godliness,
Godliness in the church, and Godliness in action. Daria Greening also
hosted a women's workshop called "Godliness Goes A-Walkin'.
The conference was hosted by Southside Baptist Church in Sebring, Florida. Pastor David Altman along with his staff and volunteers worked hard to make sure the facilities, refreshments, and meals were top-notch. Worship singing for most of the main sessions was led by Ben Kurz of Faith Baptist Church in Lake City. The Monday evening session was led by the musicians and worship team from Southside Baptist. Special music included solos by Teresa Altman and Abby Altman.
A highlight of the conference was the addition of a new church to the Sunshine Baptist Fellowship. Woodbridge Baptist Church of Wildwood, Florida, was accepted into the fellowship during the Tuesday morning business session. Woodbridge's pastor, David Johnson, and his wife Susan were present to accept the recognition on behalf of their church. On Monday evening the Council of Ten continued their yearly tradition of welcoming new pastors of SBF churches by taking them out to dinner at a local restaurant.
The next Fall Conference will be held at Peace River Baptist Church in Punta Gorda, Florida on October 22-23, 2012.
